Our ambition is to become the leading integrated biogas player in the Nordics, playing a pivotal role in the energy transition. We cover the entire biogas value chain, from feedstock sourcing to distribution and end-user sales. We aim to achieve 3 TWh biomethane production and 6 TWh biomethane sales by 2030, with a focus on heavy transport, maritime, and industrial applications.
To support this ambitious expansion, we are committed to investing over EUR 1 billion in biogas production and distribution networks across the Nordics, with several major projects underway.
Legal Counsel, St1 Biokraft AB
Are you an experienced lawyer with expertise in construction law and experience from construction projects? Are you eager to take on a challenging and versatile role in a renewable energy company which is in an exciting phase of transformation and growth? St1 Biokraft is undergoing an exciting transformation under new ownership and is setting the foundation for reaching ambitious growth goals, including >EUR 200M Annual EBITDA and 50% market share in Nordic biogas sales by 2030. St1 Biokraft is now expanding the Legal team and seeking a lawyer specialized in construction law.
Location: headquarters in Stockholm, WTC or at our office in Malmö. We offer a hybrid office possibility.
About the role:
In this position you will, in addition to regular corporate lawyer duties, be deeply involved in our expansion projects, supporting our Growth, Project Execution and Procurement teams with your legal expertise, to develop and support the projects and you may occasionally also be involved in M&A processes. You will be part of a positive, committed and competent legal team together with two lawyers and a paralegal, providing legal support to the entire St1 Biokraft group. In your role you will report to Head of Legal.
Key responsibilities:
The work is broad and varied and will span several different legal areas and jurisdictions. Among other things, the tasks will include:
- Supporting the business in expansion projects (greenfield and brownfield) with legal assessments, contract drafting, contract negotiation, and legal support during the negotiation and execution phases of projects within the field of construction law, real estate, infrastructure agreements etc.
- Handling commercial contracts related to sales, sourcing and procurement.
- M&A
- All sorts of legal matters that arise in industrial and growth companies
- Legal advice to the entire organization on various issues
Who We’re Looking For:
To thrive in your role, you should be driven, independent, and able to plan your work tasks, as well as have an interest in and a sense for business.
- Experience: Experience as an associate lawyer at a law firm or company where you have mainly worked with construction law and negotiated standard contracts common in the industry. It is an advantage if you have worked in biogas, oil, gas, water treatment, process and chemical industry, or pulp and paper industry, and have experience with ABA 99 and/or Orgalime contracts and it is beneficial if you have experience of M&A.
- Languages: Proficiency in Swedish and English, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Mindset: A commercial mindset and the ability to align legal advice with the company’s broader business goals.
- Personal attributes: Driven and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, a true team player with a proactive approach to challenges.
