About this opportunity:

 

The Material Science at System and Technology is an important part of Research & Development, supporting Sourcing and Supply with expertise within the technology area of materials. The section supports various global organizations at Ericsson regarding material technology, material testing, and acts as a single point of contact towards suppliers and certification companies.

 

The materials we choose impacts reliability, cost, performance and embedded carbon. Knowledge of material properties is therefore essential for R&D in product development and spans over a wide range of disciplines in mechanical and thermal design, among others

 

The sustainability aspect is important to Ericsson and questions about material properties are an important part. There will be opportunities to guide and drive Ericsson initiatives towards the most efficient design choices.

 

The work includes establishing and maintaining supplier relations on an international basis acquire knowledge of manufacturing methods and processes in order to strategic plan material and design flow for optimize sustainability for Ericsson products

What you will do:

 

  • Develop strategies to address embedded carbon in Ericsson products and materials
  • Lead, coordinate and partake in Ericsson wide programs and projects
  • Deliver LCA reports for materials and products
  • Provide advice and directions for product development for strategic decision

 

The skills you bring:

 

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering. Preferably within Material Science, Chemistry or Mechanics with comprehensive and diverse knowledge in life cycle assessments and sustainability or similar.
  • Worked for more than ten years in relevant industry
  •  Experienced in using software for life cycle assessments
  •  Must be able to manage multiple programs and projects in parallel with high level of autonomy, agility and flexibility
  •  Leadership or project management
  •  Great presentation skills
  •  Excellent English skills and preferably some understanding of Swedish.
  •  Interest in the following areas is seen as positive: mechanical and product design
