Next Generation: SMA Engineer

Prototyping and Production Technology (PPT) produces HW prototypes and demonstrates and develops new production technology. This is done to validate and demonstrate new technology in cooperation with Ericsson Research & Development. With strategic capabilities, as e.g. Surface Mount Assembly (SMA), Failure & Analysis lab, 3D printing/scanning, CNC machines, wire-bonding and test chambers, PPT provides a One Stop Shop to enable innovation and technology leadership for Ericsson. The focus today is to develop the future technology within 6G, the next generation telecom systems.

About this opportunity:

We are looking for the position as Next Generation SMA Engineer, within the Printed Board Assembly (PBA) section.

 

We are actively seeking the next wave of tech talent through our NextGen graduate initiative in Stockholm. This opportunity is for recent graduates with 0-3 years of experience who are eager to launch a meaningful career in technology. As a NextGen SMA Engineer within the PBA Prototyping section, you get the possibility to work within different roles, e.g. operator role, preparation engineer role, maintenance role and process engineer role, all to handle new technology and develop products for Ericsson. Through this you get the possibility to learn our different roles and areas. In long run, we together with you decide on what area within our operations that you should specialize in.

 

What you will do:

Some examples of your task could be to prepare our production systems to be able to manufacture needed PBA’s with support of “AOI & SPI equipment’s” (Automatic Optical Inspection & Solder Paste Inspection), prepare our “Pick and place machines” including “Screen printing/Jet printing” and “Reflow oven/Vapor Phase”. You will also be included in the development of our production processes and to prepare products so that these fulfil Ericsson’s high demands on quality, producibility and cost. This means that you will work cross functional closely to different roles and functions within our Site in Kista as well as together with our stakeholders.

 

The skills you bring:

You need to have a technical degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar fields. Basic knowledge of PBA/PCB and electrical component competence could be of advantage. To be successful in this role you need to have an outgoing and positive attitude, analytical skills, willingness to take responsibility and enthusiasm in facing new problems and opportunities. You have a strategic mindset, strong personal drive, a structured way in your work and can work independently as well as a in teams. Since the job involves international contacts outside and within Ericsson, fluent English and Swedish is a demand together with good communication and writing skills.

 

As you would be working in production area you need to consider working from office within official working hours.
