The Health & Safety Department at Boliden Mines is looking for a health & safety specialist who wants to help make our workplaces safer.



Work duties

Boliden works actively on and maintains high health and safety standards, which is why we are now looking for someone who is dedicated to work environment issues and passionate about making improvements in this area.


Your role will be to work on and develop the systematic work environment management within Boliden Mines. You must be an expert in work environment issues and be able to function as a support to our operational areas in Finland, Sweden and Ireland in strategic questions. As a health & safety specialist, you will also cooperate with employees within Boliden’s operations in order to develop the work environment. You will also be part of the audit team, carry out internal investigations, plan and implement health & safety trainings etc.


Your areas of expertise lie preferably within one or several of the following: risk management, safety and security questions, fire safety, chemical safety. All employees at Boliden actively participate in achieving a good, safe work environment. Our core values are: Care, Courage and Responsibility. Ideally, you will be based in Boliden, Sweden. The position is permanent. The starting date is subject to agreement.



Education and qualifications

You are a health & safety specialist with relevant education at university/college level. You have several years of experience and knowledge of current legislation in the work environment field. Experience of working with strategic health & safety questions and/or of practical work on work environment issues within the mining industry or heavy industry would be an advantage.


As a person, you are driven with a strong ability to work in an organized way and in project form. We would like you to be self-motivated and creative, and have the ability to work in groups. Naturally, you will be expected to ably represent Boliden’s safety culture.


Since there are operational areas in Ireland and Finland, as well as in Sweden, you must also be able to express yourself well in both written and spoken English and Swedish. Finnish would be an advantage.


As the position involves travelling you must hold a category B driving license.
