Global Head of Talent & Development

About the Opportunity:

The Head of Talent & Development is a strategic leader responsible for developing and driving Ericsson’s global talent, development and learning strategy. They will ensure Ericsson's sustained and accelerated success by designing and leading talent initiatives that develop and retain top talent, whilst fostering a high-performance culture aligned with Ericsson’s company values.   

 

This role is a key business priority under the close attention of Ericsson’s executive leadership team. Reporting to the Chief People Officer, you will define and deliver our global talent and development strategy, ensuring Ericsson has the capabilities and leadership required for future growth and performance.  

 

Your mandate is clear: identify the few, high-impact deliverables that will build and sustain a high-performing, future-ready workforce. You will partner with business leaders and HR to design and execute evidence-based solutions that accelerate skill development, drive engagement, and align talent practices with our strategic objectives. Your work will shape the culture, processes, and systems that enable Ericsson to out-learn and outperform in a rapidly changing global environment.  

 

As a member of the Group Function People Leadership Team and the Global Extended People Leadership Team, you will lead with discipline and focus—translating business strategy into actionable talent outcomes, measuring impact, and holding yourself and your team accountable for results. What you will do:  

  • Develop and implement Ericsson's global talent and development strategy aligned with business priorities and people strategy for a 3-5 year horizon.  
  • Enable and support the evolution of Ericsson’s culture, aligning talent practices with our growth strategy and ongoing business transformation.  
  • Curate and deliver regular, actionable talent, learning, and employee experience data and insights to inform decisions and track progress.  
  • Build an enterprise-wide talent strategy that encompasses Talent Performance, Succession, Career Growth, employee VOICE and learning.
  • Deliver a robust leadership development portfolio from new leaders to executives, taking a coaching approach to support senior leaders and secure Ericsson's future talent. 
  • Own and operationalize a global onboarding experience that accelerates new hire productivity, strengthens early engagement, and ensures every employee’s first interactions reflect Ericsson’s culture and business priorities.  
  • Lead the organization in crafting competence development strategies and defining global processes to support the end-to-end Learning and Development lifecycle.  
  • Develop and innovative world-class products and services, helping drive Ericsson's digital transformation by fostering new skills and leveraging new tools and processes.  
  • Lead change initiatives, particularly those related to organizational culture, Leadership Principles, and employee development.   
  • Develop and execute learning programs that future skills, to prepare our employees for the rapid changing environment we operate in.  
  • Drive a cultural change among our leaders on how to identify, develop and engage talents in our organization.  
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team to execute Ericsson’s talent, learning, and employee experience strategy with discipline and accountability.  
  • Manage strategic vendor partnerships to support Ericsson’s learning and leadership development programs, ensuring quality and alignment with our goals.  
  • Work closely with the Executive team, Senior leaders and HR teams to ensure alignment between talent management, learning strategies, and business objectives.  

 

What you will bring:  

  • Strong business acumen and a deep understanding of how technology and innovation drive business outcomes. Experience designing and delivering talent and development strategies that support technical, engineering, or R&D functions is highly valued.  
  • A strong background in designing and implementing learning programs and talent strategies, with expertise in performance management and succession planning.  
  • Deep understanding of global talent management trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.  
  • Proven experience as a visible executive performance consultant, partnering directly with the Executive Leadership Teams to enable people strategies that drive business results.  
  • Excellent analytical skills, leveraging data and HR analytics to inform decision-making, measure impact, and drive continuous improvement.  
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the demonstrated ability to adapt to a changing environment.  
  • Ability to work effectively in a global business with an understanding of cross-cultural differences.   

 

Minimum Requirements:  

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent level degree with a concentration in Business, Human Resources Management or Engineering.   
  • 10+ years experience in senior talent management roles or demonstrably transferable experience from other business areas with a strong passion for the Talent & Development field.   
  • Strong track record of leading large teams of experts located in different countries in alignment with Ericsson’s leadership principles to create clarity, develop people & drive results.
