Legal Counsel

Business Sweden’s purpose is to help Swedish companies grow global sales and international companies to invest and expand in Sweden. The Legal Department at Business Sweden is responsible for supporting on all legal matters of the business globally. It handles a variety of legal issues in a broad range of projects including commercial, corporate, Data Privacy, IPR and other legal matters. It operates in a truly international environment with high values and a complex legal structure. Business Sweden offers a work environment within a truly global organization. As our Legal Counsel you will handle legal issues from various markets and industries with a focus on Swedish companies abroad. We offer a motivating work environment with the possibilities to grow and develop in a complex organization consisting of commercial as well as governmental projects.

The Legal Counsel will be part of the Legal Department and report to the General Counsel in Stockholm.

Areas of responsibilities

• Provide legal advice to the global organization
• Analyze, draft and review agreements and other legal documents
• Ensure compliance with laws and regulations
• Be a first point of contact regarding GDPR-related issues
• Responsibility for Contract Management and to be a part of the digitalization of the legal department

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications and Experience

• Law Degree Master
• 3-5 years’ relevant experience with a law firm or a corporate law department or a similar role, preferably in a global environment
• Experience in assisting in business law projects from initial scoping through execution
• Excellent legal and commercial reasoning capacity
• Exemplary verbal and written communication skills in both Swedish and English
• Preferably experience of GDPR/Data Privacy

• Team player with proven ability to work collaboratively and independently both internally and externally, at all levels in an organization
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing priorities simultaneously
• Strong abilities to work both strategic as well as operational
• Excellent verbal and written communicator mastering both Swedish and English
• Service minded approach, full of optimism and a constant drive for results

Other

The position is based in Stockholm. Travel might be required but not on a regular basis.
